UPDATE: Jul. 8, 2025, 4:45 p.m. EDT This story has been updated with more deals from Best Buy’s Black Friday in July sale, including some new top picks.

Best Buy is hosting a “Black Friday in July” sale from July 7 to 13. The event directly overlaps with Amazon‘s members-only Prime Day event, which is scheduled for July 8 through 11. Very coincidental timing, I’m sure.

Best Buy is keeping the pressure coming by releasing new deals in stores, on its website, and on its mobile app every day of its summer sale. That includes a rotating “Deal of the Day,” several “Doorbusters” spotlighting popular tech, and some app-exclusive Drops featuring limited-time releases and discounts. Per the fine print, everything is available in limited quantities with no rain checks. Unlike Prime Day, though, Black Friday in July isn’t exclusive members. (My Best Buy Plus and Total subscribers do earn exclusive rewards on certain purchases, but the deals themselves aren’t paywalled.)

Best Buy has traditionally held anti-Prime Day sales in the summer, but this will be the first year its counter-programming lasts a whole week; previously, it was only three days long. It makes sense given Amazon’s own unprecedented decision to extend Prime Day 2025 from two days to four.

Having covered Prime Day and other retailers’ competing sales since 2019, I can tell you that Best Buy has always been one of Amazon’s biggest rivals when it comes to tech deals. The two retailers will aggressively price-match the other’s discounts where their inventories overlap. Just to give some examples, I noticed that Best Buy lowered some of its initial Apple AirPod, AirTag, iPad, and Samsung Galaxy smartphone deals on the second day of its sale this week to match Amazon’s newly live Prime Day prices. (The two seem to keep a very close eye on one another.) If Best Buy has any advantage over Amazon, it’s that it has a better selection of deals on high-end Windows laptops and big-screen TVs.

After spending a few hours sifting through Best Buy’s Black Friday in July listings, I’ve rounded up a list of the best anti-Prime Day deals I’ve spotted so far there. Note that struck-through deals were sold out or expired at the time of writing.

Best Apple deals

My Best Buy Plus and Total members get up to $50 in rewards with every AirPods purchase.

Apple’s latest set of non-Pro AirPods ditch the old design for a more comfortable fit, active noise cancellation, a four-hour battery life, and a better charging case.

“I spent nearly eight hours with the AirPods 4 in my ears. As I hinted in my hands-on review, the AirPods 4 sounded like honey to my ears and even more so when ANC was on,” said Mashable’s former Tech Editor Kimberly Gedeon. “While I was at the airport, sounds of coo-ing babies, loud conversations, and rolling luggage were significantly reduced, allowing me to sink deeper into some of my favorite Apple Music playlists.”

Best Buy’s Black Friday in July sale matches Amazon’s Prime Day price at $149.99, so you can be sure you’re getting the best deal possible.

Best laptop deals

My Best Buy Plus and Total members get a $25 reward for every $250 spent on Windows laptops and desktop computers (up to $75).

Why we like it

This Microsoft Surface Pro 11 model is also on sale for Prime Day at just $849.99, and while that seems like a better deal on its face, it’s actually not as good — it doesn’t come with a Surface Pro keyboard, which is really kind of the whole point of having a 2-in-1 laptop in the first place. The keyboard can be bought separately on Amazon for $149.99, but that’d bring you back up to Best Buy’s combined price if you buy that and the tablet. So, might as well get everything in one place.

Best TV deals

My Best Buy Plus and Total members get a $100 reward for every TV and audio purchase of $999 or more.

Why we like it

Out of every 55-inch TV we’ve seen on sale during Prime Day 2025, this is the cheapest we’ve found at just $199.99 (usually $329.99). It’s ironic, because this is an Amazon Fire TV, but its best price across retailers is at Best Buy. You simply have to laugh!

Best gaming deals

My Best Buy Plus and Total members get a $20 reward for every $150 spent on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch games and accessories (up to $100).

Why we like it

Monster Hunter Wilds has been one of 2025’s biggest releases so far, and it reviewed pretty well, too. Usually it takes a bit longer for new-ish releases to get a discount, and while this one is small, we’d absolutely take it. Snag a copy at Best Buy during the sale and save $14.

Gaming headsets

Handheld gaming consoles

Best fitness tracker deals

My Best Buy Total and Plus members get a $10 reward for every $50 spent on wearables (up to $50).

If you prefer your fitness trackers to be as small as humanly possible, you’ll probably like the Oura Ring 4. It’ll get you all the in-depth health analytics you want, and can be conveniently worn on your finger.

“The Oura Ring 4 is absolutely worth it, particularly if you have an iPhone,” said former Mashable Tech Editor Kimberly Gedeon in her review.

During the Black Friday in July sale, the Oura Ring 4 hit a record-low price of just $296.95, which matches Amazon’s Prime Day deal.

Read our full Google Pixel 9a review.

The Google Pixel 9a is a relatively new smartphone release from the tech giant, and it hit a record-low price during Best Buy’s Black Friday in July sale — just $423.99, or $75.01 off the usual price. We loved this phone during our review period, and it even topped our list of the best budget smartphones in 2025.

“For the price, you’re getting a solid smartphone with a decent processor (the same as the Pixel 9), excellent battery life, and good cameras,” said Mashable’s Alex Perry in their review. “In fact, it makes the Pixel 9 seem obsolete.”
