Coins.ph Partners with Clear Junction to Expand Services into Europe and UK

by Jennifer Mackenzie

Philippine digital asset platform Coins.ph has announced a strategic partnership with London-based payment infrastructure provider Clear Junction to expand its cross-border payment and financial services into the European and United Kingdom markets.

The partnership enables Coins.ph to utilize Clear Junction’s payment infrastructure to process collections and disbursements in Euros (EUR) and British Pounds (GBP) for its corporate and institutional clients. The integration provides access to local payment networks, including the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), SEPA Instant in Europe, and Faster Payments in the United Kingdom.

According to a company statement, Coins.ph will issue named virtual International Bank Account Numbers (IBANs) to its clients through Clear Junction’s technology. The virtual IBAN system allows corporate users to receive, manage, and track fiat payments with automated remittance matching and reconciliation.

“Clear Junction gives us the European payment infrastructure we need as our international business continues to grow,” Coins.ph Chief Executive Officer Wei Zhou said in a statement. “Through the partnership, we can support named account structures, local payment rail access and a clearer operating framework for our corporate and financial institution clients.”

Clear Junction Chief Commercial Officer Olga Mackintosh stated that the company will provide the necessary EUR and GBP payment infrastructure and named account capabilities within a compliance-first framework as Coins.ph expands its European corridor activity.

Corporate Footprint and Prior Milestones

Founded in 2014, Coins.ph has expanded its operations outside the Philippines, establishing a presence in Thailand, Australia, Brazil, and Mauritius. The company noted that its selection of Clear Junction was based on compliance with European Union and United Kingdom regulatory requirements to support its international expansion.

This international expansion follows several domestic product updates by the platform. Coins.ph previously integrated automated retail conversions for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), and USD Coin (USDC) into the Philippines’ national QRPh payment standard, allowing its estimated 15 million local users to transact across 700,000 domestic merchants.
