Bitcoin News – Sept 9: Capital B’s BTC Treasury Climbs to 3,521 BTC

by Liam Nolan

In Bitcoin news today, Capital B has completed the purchase of 376 BTC for €25.3M, closing out nearly €30.1M in capital raises and pushing the French-listed firm’s strategic Bitcoin treasury to 3,521 BTC.

The transaction, confirmed on September 7, was executed at an average price of €67,182 per BTC using proceeds from financings the company had been lining up since late August, according to Capital B’s September 7 press release.

The purchase closed one day before Capital B’s scheduled 10-for-1 reverse stock split takes effect on September 8. The move mirrors a pattern seen across listed Bitcoin treasury companies, where equity raises are funneled directly into large-scale Bitcoin acquisition programs rather than held as idle cash.

This news dropped as Bitcoin is trading at $79,550, down -0.8% over the past 24 hours, although it’s still up over +1% in the past week, as daily trading volume sits at $22.8Bn.

Bitcoin News: How the 376 BTC Purchase Was Funded

The €25.3M purchase drew on €28.7M raised through two private placements involving global institutional investors, including strategic investors Adam Back and asset manager TOBAM, according to the press release.

Each unit sold in the placements consisted of a share bundled with four subscription warrants, priced at €0.58 per share-and-warrant package.

The first placement, announced August 28, issued 36.22 million shares for €21.01M. A second placement on September 2 saw Back alone subscribe for 13.18 million shares, valued at approximately €7.64M.

Capital B rounded out the financing with a separate €1.44M capital increase under its agreement with TOBAM, issuing 2.8 million ordinary shares at an average price of €0.51, bringing total completed raises to roughly €30.14M, consistent with the company’s nearly €30.1M figure.

Capital B’s Bitcoin Treasury Position

Capital B, listed on Euronext Growth Paris, now holds 3,521 BTC in its strategic reserve at an aggregate acquisition cost of €309.4 million, or an average of €87,878 per coin.

That average sits well above the €67,182 paid for the latest batch, reflecting Bitcoin’s price swings across the company’s buying history. The firm separately holds 61 BTC reserved for operational needs, which it keeps segregated from treasury performance metrics.

The 376 BTC purchase marks Capital B’s largest single acquisition since it bought 624 BTC in June 2025. The company reported a year-to-date BTC Yield of 2.17% and a BTC Gain of 61.3 BTC.

These metrics are defined as tracking Bitcoin held per fully diluted share rather than traditional investment returns, a distinction worth understanding before comparing it to yields discussed in coverage of corporate Bitcoin treasury funding models.

In Bitcoin news today, Capital B’s BTC treasury now totals 3,521 BTC after a 376 BTC purchase funded by nearly €30.1 M in capital raises.

Execution, Custody and the Reverse Split Ahead

Swissquote Bank Europe, a Luxembourg-registered virtual asset service provider, executed the acquisition using proceeds from the completed capital increases, with custody handled through infrastructure from Swiss digital-asset firm Taurus.

That execution-custody split is a common feature among companies pursuing the long-horizon accumulation approach outlined in prior reporting on corporate Bitcoin holding strategies.

Capital B’s 10-for-1 reverse stock split takes effect September 8, consolidating every 10 existing shares into one and requiring adjustments to outstanding convertible bonds and warrants.

The 197.6 million warrants issued through the latest placements could generate €185.25M in additional capital if fully exercised, on top of the €100Bn in debt capacity and €5Bn capital-increase authority shareholders approved in June, according to the company’s press release.
